My challenge to you

Spent another couple hours in the woods this afternoon. I have a bedding area that I know holds some bucks but I haven't yet figured out how to hunt it without busting everything out of there in the afternoon so I haven't hunted it yet. I decided to go back and pick out a morning setup so I can try to observe the deer movement to help figure it out. Based off the sign I found 2 spots I could potentially shoot one on a morning sit. On the way out I took a detour to scout a little ridge and I was pleasantly surprised to find some nice big buck sign. The ridge is much more open that I'd like so the plan is to sneak in there quietly one afternoon this fall and find a tree dropping acorns as close to where I think they're bedding as I can get.

Scouting and shed hunting conditions around here have been perfect the past couple weeks: mild air and snow on the ground. So I’ve been out as often as possible trying to fills some of the gaps in my understand of deer movement in several of my hunting areas. I’ve been managing to get several half days in the woods every week as well as a few quick jaunts. It’s been paying off too - I found a couple sheds from bucks I’ve been hunting, pinpointed some buck beds, and found a few travel routes. I love connecting the dots, it helps me have the confidence I need come fall.

What a bunch of quitters. Doesnt this thread violate some forum rule? If not we need a new rule, no incentivizing concepts like no new gear. How do youins sleep at night knowing @always89y @Cbigbear @DanO and others well being depends on your need for new gear. And here you are getherin under some rally cry to save a few bucks. Bud light for all of you.

I wouldn’t sweat it. How many have already declared total and utter failure? Watch the dominoes.

For everyone who is laughing or saying they bought something already so they're out, you're missing the point. The idea is if you get out and put more time in the woods it will do more for your success than that next gear purchase.
Yeah I'm out of the challenge as I'm always looking for a slightly better system but I just got my first trail cam pic of a shed buck so it's about time for me to start putting the miles in. Plus the ankle is finally getting better.

I think you'll have an uphill battle getting redsquirrel's thread taken down, lol. I think he's got some weight around here.

Well, there may be hope for me after all. My birthday is coming up, wife asked me for ideas, and upon giving her a couple of ideas, I was promptly told

"You don't NEED anymore hunting gear".

So I'll be needing someone to drop ship my items to, repackage them in unsuspecting packages, and ship them to me lol.

About two minutes before I opened this thread I ordered a new aider from Hunt Arsenal. I'm not gonna send it back.

I fully agree with the intent of this though, and fully agree. More time in the woods is the best piece of gear you can have.
