First pics of Dan Infalt’s climbing sticks

If you do the rope mod on these sticks and add stealth strips I expect they will be 1 lb 10 oz each. About an ounce or two better than I've ever been able to achieve using my muddy parts and a non perforated tube. @bowhunter15 got down to 1 lb 11 oz on a similar sized stick including rope and stealth strips.

Which reminds me. I need to Strata Stealth Strip my sticks! Beautiful.

Lot of speculation but way too early for all that. Details still being worked out.

The sticks being tested by a few of us are only prototypes and likely a bit different than the final production sticks will be.

Been using mine since August and love them. Better than any climbing stick I have ever used.

The 24” step has not been an issue for me being 5’10” even with more clothes on. My understanding is they will be produced in other lengths.

With four 24” sticks I can reach 24 feet. Bottom stick has a 3 step aider and the rest have a single aider. All coming in at right around 10 lbs.

Wow. Those are heavier than I thought based on everything dan has said on podcasts and the public domain. I might be better sticking with my frankensticks with the muddy steps. Thanks for the update.

The 10 lbs I mentioned was with straps, Yak Grips, Stealth Strips and aiders on every stick. Guess I should have mentioned that. LOL.

The final product will likely be lighter.

I hope so. Honestly that still sounds heavy. I'm not using straps, but my sticks are under 2 lbs each with rope mods and stealth strips. Bowhunter15's are 1 lb 11 oz with ropes and stealth strips using thinner wall tubing. A cut off helium stick is 2 lb 3 oz to the same dimensions, also with rope mode. Those straps are heavier than rope but not that heavy. Not trying to be critical/negative here but I have to admit I lost a lot of enthusiasm with this first hand report. I hope the production sticks are better.

Maybe we need to get Bowhunter 15's sticks into production

Is it called crowd funding??? I am too old to know if that is what it is called.

One thing I failed to mention is the aider. Almost all mine are 2 oz per step. Fully transparent on the math here.

Lost a lot of enthusiasm.....don’t be so dramatic. LOL.

Don’t go by my weight. Wait for the final product. Like I said mine are just first run prototypes. Lot’s of changes since then. That’s really all I can say. Be patient.

The question is price.....
How about a game of over or under?
Set of 4 sticks $225, What say you, over or under that price.

Thanks,
Boswell

I expect over that. I think I read that Dan suggested that his stands and sticks would not be inexpensive.
Unlike the Kestrel... which is reasonable :smirk:

Unless something better comes along I will probably be interested in Dan's sticks. Or maybe I should cut down my heliums like Dave T did .

To be honest I'm comparing a lot of climbing methods here. Honestly, sticks have fallen on the back burner for me. I want to bring em back.

Spurs are great and quiet but I can't use them everywhere. Not trying too hard Less than 6 lbs.

SRT is super quiet but it's not meant for bed hunting unless the tree is preset with paracord. Not trying to hard. Less than 6 lbs.

Wild Edge Steps are the most efficient mobile bed solution to date paired with Red's Climbing method. Super quiet. 6 steps (lbs) gets me to slightly over 24 feet. 8 steps (lbs) gets me over 32 feet. Climbing method is my tether (or safety harness with conventional stand).

So why these sticks? If they are as light as claimed, I can add aiders at get 7.5 feet per step at 2 lbs each. 6 lbs to 22.5 feet with just 3 sets. 8 lbs to 30 feet with 4 placements. Not saying it's perfect but it moves them back into the playing field.

Yep. American made product. A ton of tooling if he utilizes all the cut outs. But would you pay a premium for the best? Many would including me. This isn't meant for the preset guy. Just the hardcore DIY mobile hunter looking for one set.

I hate snakes. You have too many for me. USA Great country but I like it here.
When our dollar was at par things were more equal. If oil prices rise again then the price of imports will drop because our dollar will rise. Freer trade would drop more duties too - both ways.

Ouch north of $200 for a set of sticks? I get the economics of supply and demand but i'm starting to think when I got my set of 4 lone wolf sticks for a $125 it was a once in a lifetime deal lol!
