Definitely looking for something as a secondary angle. I have a camcorder for my primary. My last cameras took film and hi8 cassettes so I’m trying to play catch-up on technology.I have a tactacam 4 mounted on my bow. I think a common misunderstanding is using it as a primary recorder, imo its a much better used as a shot confirmation device.
Mounting method is huge on performance of the tactacam. I have mine mounted to a picatinny rail system right by my stab. I think it takes the majority of the wobble out during a shot.
As far as ease goes, the tactacam is great. It's sits on my bow, as I reach for it to shoot my bow, my finger presses record. That's it. No adjusting framing as the animal moves, no extra camera arm or gear to carry.Definitely looking for something as a secondary angle. I have a camcorder for my primary. What negatives have you heard that concern you?I’ve been reading a lot of negative stuff about the Tacticam solo action camera. Anyone have any experience with them? Any advice on Tacticam or any of the other action cams? I’m looking at Tacticam vs GoPro vs Sony XV1000.
The reviews Ive read about the Tacticam solo in particular have said it has connectivity issues with the app and a number of users had to return theirs because the camera quit working all together. I personally don’t have any experience with them just basing it off of reviews. What negatives have you heard that concern you?
I don't have experience with the solo, just the 4. I haven't had those kinds of issues yet (thankfully)The reviews Ive read about the Tacticam solo in particular have said it has connectivity issues with the app and a number of users had to return theirs because the camera quit working all together. I'm assuming the problem isn't the obvious of not being mounted square?A buddy of mine recently got one of these and put it on his bow and said it’s pointing like 5ft up and 5ft left of where he is shooting. Anyone have any experience or tips to help him out. My understanding is there isn’t a lot of adjustability there? Thanks!
HOW does he have it mounted? Stabilizer mount shouldn’t be high and left of anything. A little low is where my tactacam on stabilizer mount points. If he mounted with another method, it will definitely change his recorded sight picture.A buddy of mine recently got one of these and put it on his bow and said it’s pointing like 5ft up and 5ft left of where he is shooting.
