All things considered I paid 80 for the 15-91 but the guy had a 31-15 in his basement he wants 150. Can get both for 180 but I only want 1. Is the 31-15 worth it or just take the 15-91.

Buy both and resell the one you don't want. you need 100 out of the 31-15 to break even and only 30 out of the 15-91, seems like a good way to pay for more material to DIY with to me. I don't have any experience with either but that will let you play a bit and make some informed decisions about what you actually need for your project

I know the 15-91 will work for saddles and gear but if the 31-15 can do it as well, the prospect of a servo motor eventually sounds great

I don't have experience with either, buy both sell the 15-91 and use those funds towards a servo motor

Take the 15-91. The other one may divert you by needing to fix/time it, replace worn parts and buy a servo motor for it.

I would take that other money and put it in a fund until you can buy a proper used unison feed machine. IMO, anything between a 15-91 and a triple feed (consew 206, Juki 562/563 or clones is just a diversion and waste of time/money (if one’s goal is to sew hunting saddles and outdoor gear.

I spent way tooo much time and money messing around with the land between 15-91 and proper triple feed machine.

Just my 0.02.

So the consensus is ditch the 31-15 and take the 15-91? We settled on 120 to take the 31. I’m happy to just take the 15-91. At this point I just want to make saddles, and if the 15-91 can get through the 3 layers of webbing at the main seam I’ll be happy.

My only gripe about the 15-91 is the motor possibly failing. The 31-15 can just take a new motor, servo or not.

15-91 replacement motor is cheap and everywhere. It’s a little workhorse for me!

No experience with the 31-15, but I have a 15-91 recommended by someone on here. Works great so far. Sews through whatever I ask it to.
