Are there magazine capacity restrictions for GA/Ft Stewart for people with ARs?

Any issues with semi automatic rifles? Can't imagine since you aren't up with all the Democrats by @redsquirrel.

I started the conversation with my wife last night. Initial reactions were positive, but there are some logistics I need to conquer. I would probably have to fly in, rent the kayak, ship the meat etc. Where is the best airport?

I'd fly into Savannah, GA (45 minutes) or Jacksonville, FL (1 hr). Atlanta is 4 hours. Kayak rental is super cheap.

No issues with pistols, ARs, or high capacity magazines. This is GA...You just have to register the weapons with Fort Stewart. Simple and easy.

@Erniepower I can try to work out transportation issues with you. If you fly into Savannah, I can pick you up to save the hassle of a rental.

If I can come, I'm flying in also. It's a 12 hour drive so it wouldn't be efficient for a weekend.

I've got a couple of guys interested. Holiday weekend/schedule has made it tough to coordinate but I will more than likely drive wednesday night -thursday. Hunt all weekend and leave Sunday night Monday morning. NY to GAis a serious drive!! Might have room to grab another body if anybody wants to go and cut fuel costs.

If we wanted to fly in, we should maybe coordinate days and save G2 some driving What do you think for days red? It looks like flights from minneapolis are around 380$

The one thing that always bugs me about short out of state hunts like this is going in blind without much time to figure out any of the land. G2, is it pretty easy to find setups and find pigs in this area?

this sounds like fun. I would like to meet some of you whos post I have been following and learning from. G2 looks like ill get to meet you at Hang Con. Is a 13 Gheenoe with motor usable here? If I come I'm in Jacksonville right rear the airport , so can help with a ride for someone, also have extra tents so you don't have to fly with one.

Here's the thing, we can't feed them on public land. If I had access to private, I'd setup bait and we'd be money.

I don't have a lot of experience, but there are a lot of pigs here. It's just gonna be about putting boots on the ground. I've seen more pigs than deer. Moving slowly through the swamp seems to be a good tactic.

I'll post some maps so you can get familiar digitally. There is sooooo much swamp here it's tough to pin down their locations. We can hunt food plots too.

Awesome! I'm pumped for HangCon.

Definitely bring the boat. There are two rivers that cut through Fort Stewart. Your Gheenoe would work great.

Good news. I'd say my chances are up to 60/40 in favor of this happening at the moment. My wife actually talked about it like it was going to.

Ernie, ideally I would fly out Thursday evening after work and return sometime on Monday. As soon as I get the go ahead from my wife I'll make sure I can get off from work. If we could coordinate, that would be great. If we can't, I have no problem renting a car if needed.

I want to do a pig hunt, just not sure this is the time. Sounds like fun though. The archery test is interesting, why make ya shoot out of a stand if your not hunting out of one? My luck Id show up and not qualify and have to share a gun with somebody.

I agree on the archery test, but rules are rules so I'll take my shotgun if I can go. I am not the best shot in the world, but I am pretty darn effective if I limit myself to 20 yards, so that is what I do. I don't even practice at 30 yards anymore so I'm not sure I could put a couple in the kill zone. Haven't shot my 30 yard pin in a few years! LOL

It's easier than you think. And it's not a big deal deal, or high pressure either. It's a little lady or some old retired vet hanging out with you. It's a piece of cake.
