She’s messed me up on a buck last year but my doe tags were filled. This year she’s first on the list. Right under the ear. Lights out

Honestly, I shot the first doe I saw on my first sit last year. With any luck, this year will be no different.

I always try to shoot a doe as early as possible. Usually by the time season starts I am out or almost out of meat from the previous season & itching to get more.

I've seen personally and also utubes shows it pretty consistent....a fallen deer makes others curious and they go check it out. Maybe not mature bucks? I watched 4 separate does come and investigate their unlucky buddy. I shot her at 20 and she ran only 15ft but behind brush to were I couldn't shoot at the others

If she's hot, it works for the mature bucks as well. I do some managed hunts where you have to shoot a doe before a 15" wide buck or aged at 3.5+. A guy I know was into November with no kills in the program. Of course a giant buck comes in with a doe. Shotgun hunt. He shot the doe and dropped her in her tracks. Buck tried mounting her on the ground and then he dropped him too

I like Jeff sturgis and think he really knows what he’s talking about but man, a lot of his content is so irrelevant to a lot of hunters. The majority of that video has bragging about his food plot. I think more hunting content creators should do videos on shooting does.
