So I saw a beautiful buck this morning in an area that I can hunt. I’m a newb so I’m looking for input on which side of the road to go after this guy. The star is where I saw him @ 5:30 in the morning, the arrow is the way he was facing. So I’m assuming he is heading back to his bedding area from feeding at that time? Any input is helpful

About 900m wide by 1000m long. Not very big, but it is pretty damn thick. Swampy NC area

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. There’s plenty of public land here. Just trying to find my own little piece that isn’t over run with dogs

Before you put everything on a water approach test it before you do it unless you know you are a good distance from the bedding, go in during the day or scout where you're landing before you go in early morning. Onx put me about 50 yds from the spot I had marked as access. Didnt want to keep going up and down the bank looking so just went in and got into some thick stuff that slowed me way down.

But had a whole plan drawn up and dropped my paddle in the canoe and pretty sure I blew everything out of the area before I got in the thick stuff. Didnt see anything bigger than a squirrel just sitting in the tree stewing. Or not. Maybe it was just a horrible setup haha.
