Shifting from Ropeman 1 to hitch on 11mm tether.....suggestions that have been field tested

So I have canyon elite 9 mm what cord works best with it as in making hitches? And what is the go to hitch all I know so far is 6 Marc works great with 8 mm police but still playing with what works best on 9mm. Elite. I haven’t tried using the 9 mm yet only in house the hollow block seams to slip. Any suggestions I deeply appreciate
Marc= TRC. Lol

The Elite is actually more like 10-10.5mm, not the 9mm they state, probably too big to grab reliably on an 11mm rope.

TRC worked fine for me on Elite the little I messed with it. A good 7mm accessory cord would likely work better. Hitch wise I would look at the cornell, sticht, or longhorn agile.

Is there a certain kind of rope like material wise? What kind of accessory cord?

Missed this post. A 8mm cord would be a good choice, heat resistance would be nice, not necessary when also using a device.
Post 40 is asking about hitch cord for Elite.

Can you recommend what kind? I am not to knowledgeable on types of rope. I like to make some my own.this guessing game gets expensive.

8mm arborist’s hitch cords work, but might need to have the covers made looser for better grabbing, some slack in the cover needs to be trapped between the eyes. 7, or 8mm Bluewater VT cord, or TRC in something a little smaller that grabs reliably.

which hitch would be more dependable?? stich or long horn agile and these can stay on the rope correct?

Both can be left tied to the rope, the Sticht is more compact, releases easily, and can be tied with just a piece of cord, and the tight eyes help to keep them from roaming around the carabiner and side loading it.

I used the Cornell all season last year and it worked perfectly for me. I plan to play with the other two more between now and season but do not recall anyone having any issues at all reliably using them.

I currently have two 11mm tethers.......the EWO Predator has a Longhorn Agile and the other has a Stitch with a Brocky soft ring. I've tried them both out on a front yard tree by sitting in my saddle to give them a realistic load, then standing up while leaning. Both with adjust without binding and I plan to test them out more in the woods as the weather warms up. I don't think you could go wrong with either. As Brocky noted, the Stitch is more compact and uses less cordage.
