Need help with pack

I’m new to saddle hunting but also new to mobile hunting, and I need some guidance. I’ve searched a bit on here and can’t find a good, affordable answer. I use the sitka fanatic jacket and I need to find a pack that can securely strap the jacket to the outside (while still hauling 3-4 climbing sticks on the outside) OR a pack big enough that I can put the jacket inside the pack and still have room for everything else. I use a ring of steps so platform isn’t an issue. What would you guys recommend? I have seen the kuiu venture 2300 but don’t want to buy it for it to not work. Doesn’t need to be high end, I’d prefer a budget friendly pack if possible. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

I won't give advice regarding which pack to buy, but if you hunt an area where there is snow in the trees/underbrush, buy a waterproof bag to put your coat in before strapping it to your pack. You don't want to put you coat on only to discover the inside is coated with snow, or worse, that snow melted on your coat and your coat is wet.

This mess was an experiment. It's my Eberlestock X2 pack with a coat and bibs in the yellow bag and a heavy wool vest in the tan bag. It looks like a tick about to pop, but carries well.

You could carry your coat in the meat shelf or load shelf of something like a MR pop up or Kifaru Stryker xL .

Where did you get that bag? Is it noisy? Looks like a good way if you don’t have a meat shelf.

I have the Venture 2300 and the Fanatic Jacket. You can stuff it in there but it takes up about half of the main compartment. There are plenty of straps to attack it to the front or side of the pack. This is a great pack but It does not have enough organizational pockets for the stuff I want easy access to in the tree. You might take a look at the Sitka Cargo Box. It is a bit heavier and a bit more money but it has a ton of capacity inside and out, many pouches and is very accessible when hanging in the tree.

Thanks…I have been interested in the venture 2300 and might go with that. Thanks for the message. I would buy the cargo box but I don’t feel like spending the money on it lol. The organizational pockets aren’t too big of a deal for me

I’d suggest you try some packs before you buy em. There are major differences when they’re loaded as to how they fit and perform.
