    Ropeman1 recall

I still have to check but pretty sure I have one of these. It works fine on my 8-9 mm hunting ropes but won't catch sometimes on my 11-12 mm tree ropes. It was driving me a bit nuts why. I saw the email yesterday and I was like ahhhahhh.

    Various Backpacks

Yeah good stuff in normal sizes too. I quit checking when all the good deals seemed to be odd size stuff and scrolling got too much. Seems more geared to people with shopoholic issues now.

    Stealth Strips

I tried it as a grip tape on one of my janky old crutches when I was gimping around. Do not recommend. The glue bleeds through pretty quickly in that application.

    MUDDY IS JUNK

Private equity happened. Defective, or blemished though? Important distinction without further details it makes me wonder. Not doubting you personally but I've seen some similar threads on here that are much ado about nothing.

    2024 Turkey Thread

When I was learning the youtubes to get into turkey hunting I started just bugling for awhile as a locater call because any loud noise worked and I wanted to stand out among the many many public land hooters. Then I tried to replicate a pileated woodpecker. I've done the truck alarm thing a...

    Various Backpacks

Holy crikes I hadn't checked camofire in a minute. It's....quite......a lot now. Shenanigans. Anyone remember when it was one deal, per day?

    Permissions on private

A lot of absentee LOs (the investor types) have a local that watches out for the place and hunts there. Either finding that person or becoming that person are my suggestions. People have this perception tough that the grass is greener on private, honestly even around here, most of it gets...

    Permissions on private

Working on their properties in exchange for access has worked well for me in the past. And being generous with gifts and sharing the harvest if they are interested. Back when I lived in the city I had a few decent properties in the outer suburbs where this worked. People are always looking...

    Accessories-Must Haves!!!

If you value comfort a back band and knee pads seems pretty obvious. Never tried a spreader, I don't have a hip pinch problem which that is intended to mitigate. I second using quality ropes and cordage and/or hardware.

    Near fall experience

Newbs should read #15 and #16 a few times. It's not about toting around all the fancy gear and looking the part, it's knowing how to use it! Beware the man that has one saddle/bow/gun/platform, whatever.

How did you cook your turkey?

Breastesses, meh. Usually cut in chunks, brine in pickle juice and buttermilk, coat in seasoned flower, don't forget the MSG if you're really tryna copy chic fil a. Good eats, chicken does it better, though. And chicfila being 5 minutes down the road, I usually outsource cleanup to them. I...

    Cleaning up

My favorite screening cover is light, so it's almost never a bad thing to open it up, sometimes it's just a short term sacrifice which can be tough or non negotiable on micro properties. Still takes a few years for stuff to grow deer high, but if you can drop some junk trees with bigger tops...

    Cleaning up

Why? When I do habitat work I'm usually trying to make it thicker. Unless I'm trying to turn invasive crap back into natives.

    2tc vs one sticking

On paper so can I but I one-sticked every hunt last year. 2 TC is fine I just find one-sticking a little...easier? Idk. I'm not super practiced at 2 TC. Here I thought that was the overhyped one but I gather cbigbear is saying otherwise? Setting lines in the woods in the dark and brush just...
