2024 Gear thread

I think this climbing platform is new.
Looks like a better Panther Platform setup but if that thing doesn't have some Summit design patent infringement I'll be surprised.

Must have rode his horse in to the woods edge...

Please discuss what pull up rope option you think you'll use to get it in the tree! :tearsofjoy:

Looks like he copied the design of the x climber by adding the central post to the climber. For years guys wanted a micro climber to use with saddles and once barren ridge released their’s, it reminded me and many others of what wasn’t so great about climbers. I’m glad to see guys shoring up the short coming climbing platforms had with side pressure but being limited to a straight limbless tree just isn’t in the cards for me.

He also allowed that tether to drop to his knees a couple times while on a kong duck… definitely not the type of how to I’d release from a safety standpoint

Website doesn't indicate whether steel or aluminum but being bolted through hollow tubing, for a heavier guy like me, this would be an area of concern in terms of metal fatigue.

This platform had the center post once at height

I haven’t heard good things about that one from people that tried it.

I have no first hand experience with it. The 2 guys that I know that have it and used it both seem to like it. I take all that with a grain of salt though.

Barren ridge tried. That mark2 x climber isn’t something I’m interested in honestly. Neither is this Osprey one either. Honestly, I believe I’d prefer 2TC with a good pair of stirrups over a climber based platform at this point.
