Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

Did some figuring before I start shooting…. But basically my goal is at least 546TAW, maybe even higher depending what shoot wells. I had been toying with idea of going up in draw weight but looking at the numbers I don’t see any real need to? (I used a calculator at Backcountry Bowhunting for...

    Why don't yall 2TC?

Nice, so you are running a single carabiner on foot tether that you use for footloop AND tethering in around limbs. i have a carabiner and ropeman1 with footloop. it's nice to be able to adjust the distance of the footloop independently, but I have wondered if the weight is worth it... or why i...

    Why don't yall 2TC?

I have my webbing loop directly hanging on the carabiner. My loop is probably similar, around 6”

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I called a local shop to inquire about getting my axis arrows cut and he owner was saying you can’t remove inserts from carbon arrows without damaging them…. SMH, never sure if that’s a CMA thing or just bad business. I may just get one of the small pipe cuts and go DIY.

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

awesome. if i may, would there be any benefit to shoot stock-fletched bare shafts before these steps?

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

just checking my work here: - Im gonna take arrows with stock inserts and try various field tips weighted 225-300gr. - shoot thru paper and see what flies best - whatever weight at tip flies best, make sure insert and broadhead equal that weight. last question. can I shoot this way without...

    What have you learned?

If it factors greatly in terms of learning, The NWR I predominantly hunt prohibits trail cams. I have hung a few on WMAs before which was helpful.

    What have you learned?

I will pose another question herein, selfishly for my gain: what do you learn when you don't see deer at all on a sit? skunked a lot last season and I think my lessons were - scout more and don't settle on anything less than exceptional sign/high confidence - move slower = be quieter = assume...

    What am I doing wrong

Look wherever there aren’t hunters. Roadside hotspots exist, way back isolated kill spots exist too. Look for what is overlooked: stuff on the edge of private, or sanctuaries, small tracts that might be harder to access or are isolated, even WMAs that just don’t have the same pressure (again...

    What am I doing wrong

yeah, i have never hunted SC and don't know exactly that terrain, but for bowhunting I'd be looking for even thicker woods. pics can be hard to do justice but compared to the photos you posted you can see this area has a higher stem count, lots of small diameter trees, etc.

    2TC guys… rappel or not?

asking for clarification on Munter, lots of guys say they run it on second bridge or with a backup. Is the Munter the lower hitch, taking the strain, while you tend a JRB ascender that’s higher on the same rope as a Munter, but is unstrained?.

    What am I doing wrong

hunt where the deer are. Walk until you bump, see, hear em run off. Then figure out why they were there. all my kills on public (not many, mind you) have been places I had seen deer before. hunting high pressure+ low density areas sucks. It’s similar down here. just get comfortable ruling off...

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

honestly im being a bit stingy because I have 9 unopened 100gr stingers I could use... I did shoot some last night with 100gr tip + 100gr adapter and the wife and I agreed it was much quieter. didn't shoot thru paper but wasn't getting anything super weird on the target even at 20 yards - just...

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I watched more videos and I think I'm getting how to figure all this out. only question would be (and I think I know the answer), is it ill-advised to have an insert that is heavier than the broadhead? Say a 125gr insert with a 100gr broadhead? I assume that's, on its face, a little weird; but...
