Heck yeah, man! Way to stay after it.Well, she won't be watching the ball drop tonight. I went out this afternoon to a small permission property I have and hunted. About 15 minutes before dark two does came easing through and I put in a perfect shot at about 14 yards. They both bolted into a briar thicket, so it was fun finding her. She didn't go too far, just into the thick stuff. After some crawling around on hands and knees in the dark I found her.
She's not the biggest deer by far and they were both the same size, so it was hard to judge them on the hoof. No matter, the landowner is happy he got some venison this evening.
I went out on 1/3 for my annual birthday sit. My hunt before I had found a recently fallen pine that the deer were browsing on. Hung a cam and deer were coming through between 7:30-8:30 every day. I got set up by 6:15 and wouldn't you know it here come the deer at 6:20. Not light til 7. Was at least 5 of them and they browsed and were long gone before I could do a dang thing about it. Didn't see anything after that. Man they can be frustrating sometimes. Hoping to get my son out this weekend. I might get 2 more bow sits outside of that before the season ends
