Shout out somebody that helped you get started!

As I sat here contemplating this thread it occurred to me that the best hunting advice I have taken from this site was not a strictly gear or system thread. In 2018 @DaveT1963 made a preseason post where he reminded everyone to not let frustration get a hold of you during the course of the...

Shout out somebody that helped you get started!

As others have said I have to give the shoutout to @redsquirrel . I had bought an Aerohunter EVO saddle before finding this site (packaging in the EVO recommended Saddlehunter.com as a user reference) but I never would have made the conversion without finding this site and thereby learning how...

Michigan meet up May 11th @Sleepy Holliw State Park, 11 A.M.

Thanks also to @Andrew920 for cooking up some venison burgers for us. They sure beat the tag soup I've been eating since last year! :tearsofjoy:

    LIVE from the Saddle 2024

Left to right @movehuntir , @cheecho67 , @Horn, that's either @Andrew920 or @Boomah21 under the blue ball cap (sorry guys not sure enough to say for sure), @DBL B and an old fat guy.

Official admit you fell of your stick thread

For the record I do the same thing when one sticking. Stepping up in the aider my left hand is around behind the tree. Advancing the tether I'm two feet solid on the bottom steps of my stick with my left hand still around behind the tree. I hold the link in my right hand and work some slack...

Michigan meet up May 11th @Sleepy Holliw State Park, 11 A.M.

We're planning on leaving my house at 7:00 (that means before 6:30 for @movehuntir o_O ). We're picking up another guy (@DBL B) along the way. Google maps says 3 hours and we'll most likely need breakfast along the way so we'll be there as early as we can.

Jokes and Memes - NO POLITICS

Can't really speak for their high FOC arrows but I can tell you that those old Martin bows were real arrow lobbers. High speed for the day I suppose and this bow killed me a bunch of deer but it's trajectory with a 125grn head on a XX75 arrow much different than my longbows. On a side note...

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I agree with what @woodsdog2 posted above but will also point out that it seems like you don't have a lot of room to move with the arrow if you're drawing 30.5 inches. The most you could shorten your arrow is 1/2 inch for a loss of only 4.25grns (9.5grns/in). If you add that weight back into...

You forget that I'm old. I've been paddled by the best of 'em, including a few times by the school principle with the vented paddle. Can't say I ever got a paddling I didn't have coming (I wasn't exactly a well behaved youngster) and I'm not any the worse for the wear from those I received. ;)
