    Favorite "large" platform?

LWCG The Fix is a nice platform. It’s 12x12. For me if I go any bigger I feel like I might as well get a hang on. Lol.

Tenpoint Quality and Customer Service is Junk

When i was going through one of my crossbow phases I bought a tenpoint havoc and had issues right out of the gate with it. Their customer service was not good in my experience. That was my first and last tenpoint.

    2TC guys… rappel or not?

I haven’t really come to a decision yet. Part of me likes the idea of just using 2TC to come down but then I like the idea of always being able to come down quickly at any point, especially in an emergency situation. It seems it would be an ideal way to come down when it’s dark and in a tree...

    2TC guys… rappel or not?

If you have weight on the rappel line then it’s cinched to the tree. The pull down line is to help get it to release after you get to the ground. This explosion hitch that is being talked about I have no idea and I’m not sure I want anything that explodes when it comes to climbing gear. Lol.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

Ok. So twist in the back and then the ends back through the ring? Then over the carabiner. After going over carabiner do the ends go back through the ring? I have seen some where they go under the ring and tucked between the rope and twist in the back and then form stopper knot?

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

After putting weight on it. Notice the ring stretched out.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

I tried it again and made the ring a out as small as i could. Barely enough to get the rope through. After I put weight on the hitch the ring stretches out really big. I’m sure I’m not doing something right. Here is some photos of the steps I took.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

So making the ring smaller should help? Also, when I take the two ends to the back of the rope and make the twist, do I flip the twist up before bringing the ends back through the ring? I hope that makes sense. If not I will get a picture of what I am talking about.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

I believe I am crossing twice for one full twist. These pictures I had one more wrap on the coil then I usually was doing just to try.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

I have started playing around with the sticht. I love how it breaks effortlessly with weight on it. The problem I am running into is after putting weight on it a couple times it gets to the point where it binds up and I can’t tend it up. I suppose putting something on there to act as a tender...

Not meaning to open a can of worms - cross loading carabiners

RDA is using those x2 sticks to make one sticks. I have one so that’s a bit concerning. I didn’t really realize there was an issue with standoffs breaking. I don’t think I will be using it much if at all since going with 2TC but if I ever do I guess I will switch the standoff to an EWO. I...

    2tc vs one sticking

I actually don’t find any issues with standing up in the foot loop to move my top tether. My experience with one sticking has been the opposite in that I am far more comfortable with 2TC. Especially from a safety standpoint But the 2TC movements just feel more natural to me.
