Outstanding Job. I really need to set some time this season to come down.
I know of a few guys that will be there at the end of February...

You can use big game wespons in February. Last year I used my 300 win mag. Totally legal.

Wasn't it that there was a chance those areas would be closed? You can use big game wespons in February. Last year I used my 300 win mag. Totally legal.

Yeah there might be a few but they don't let me use big bores then. I'm not a huge fan of chasing wounded/dying hogs with rimfires. I guess I could break out the muzzlestuffer.
My preferred weapon of choice slings 405gr hard cast of shoulder braking power.

If you are chasing wounded pigs with a 22 mag you are taking lung shots... switch to a behind the ear shot and you won’t ever have to track a pig again.
Two sets of rings on that scope?

The only thing you need to know about pig hunting is cover ground and keep the wind in your face.Really thinking about coming from Minnesota. Know nothing about pig hunting though. How many pigs did you guys get last year? Also would anyone from the area possibly want to carpool
They will move all day. I killed 2 on Saturday at 1130 in nearly 80 degrees. That's all sounds easy lol. I mean I know nothing they usually move all day or is it a bedding to food type of thing like deer. Noob here but sounds to good to pass up
If they closed the same areas this year that they closed last year it would be most of the rimfire side closed. The sides flip flopped this year in comparison to last year. I think the benefit of the rimfire was you could hunt almost any open area. Even with a large majority of the centerfire area closed last year that was still where the guys that were successful got their hogs.Wasn't it that there was a chance those areas would be closed?
Yep flying into Atlanta and renting a car for the weekend. I would rather drive 3 hours than take a flight from Savannah to Atlanta and have a 3 hour layover....The only thing you need to know about pig hunting is cover ground and keep the wind in your face.
I know @Erniepower is coming from Minnesota. But I think he's flying.

Please tell me that means "tough son of a bitch"I do when given the opportunity.. Two inch down and two inchs back from the ear hole. Drops them like a fat kid in dodgeball.
That is a TSOB mount and rings from SSK. It the only mount that I have found that will keep a pistol scope from moving with my 45-70 and 375JDJ. It also uses aluminum clamshell rings that also to keep the scope internals from coming apart under heavy recoil.
I have blown up 2 Leupolds (M8 2x and Vari-X 2.5-8x) and a Ultradot previous to this scope. Burris just seem to hold up better. I have a 3-12 on my 7WSM Striker.

Have not been on here in a long time. I have hunted out of a tree saddle exclusively for the last 6 years. This sounds like a fantastic time. I will be down for sure. Will be driving down from Warsaw Indiana. I will bringing my Jackson Kilroy DT 16 kayak that will be sure to get me in to some spots I can find pigs.
As far as weapons I have muzzleloader sluggun bow all the necessities. I like the idea of being able to use a rimfire must it be .22 cal? I would like to use my 17wsm with 25grain hollowpoint.
Gonna try to talk my buddie in to going if he declines I will have a open spot in the Tacoma if some one would like to ride along.
